This Tuesday, Sutton are meeting Belper for the second time this season. Sutton lost away to Belper earlier in the season 4-0.
Belper have started the season very well in the League having won 17 games out of 27.
They currently sit fifth in the league, so it will certainly be a tough game for Sutton. On a brighter note for Sutton, Belper’s form has suffered more recently having lost 3 games out of their last five. So, this maybe the best time Sutton can try and have a crack at them.
Belper Town are based in Derbyshire and play at the Christchurch Meadow. The team are nicknamed the Nailers from the Towns history with nail making. The club were formed in 1883 and play in yellow and black at home.
Recent accolades include Northern Premier League Presidents Cup winners 2009-10, and the Derbyshire Senior cup winners in 2007-08.
Sutton had a good victory last time out at Coles Lane, but the result was slightly marred by last Saturday’s performance, and more importantly, the result.
The Royals are now in 17th place, seven points clear of 18th and 19th spot, and are now looking over their shoulder nervously. Sutton need points to survive, and Belper need them to get promoted, so it’s a high stakes game at Coles Lane for very differing reasons.
Kick-off is 7.45, hope to see as many of you there as possible, and let’s get behind the lads and cheer them on to victory.
Come on you Royals.
