Sutton meet Spalding Utd in Lincolnshire this Saturday for their 30th league game of the season.
Following on from two great home wins, The Royals will be keen to pick up points on the road as well.
Spalding are on a good run at the moment having recently beaten Halesowen Town, and earned a credible draw against Ilkeston last time out. Spalding sit in ninth place in the League, eight places above Sutton, so a very tough game will be expected.
Spalding are based in Lincolnshire and were formed in 1921. They are nicknamed the Tulips and play at the Sir Halley Stewart Field. Their honours include United Counties League Premier Division Champions in season 13-14, and League Cup winners in 94-95.
Spalding will be playing in their blue strip, so the Royals will be in their green strip.
The player on the opposition side to watch out for will be new signing Maddison, who has made an impact going forward this season. Maddison was a professional footballer who played for Peterborough, Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers before signing for Spalding.
Earlier in the season these two sides played out a 1-1 draw, but both teams are very different now. With Sutton on back-to-back wins against two sides in the top half of the table, they will feel confident of getting a good result.
The last time Sutton played at Spalding it turned out to be a very bad result for Sutton. They came away with a 3-0 drubbing, and Sutton never had the chance to make amends as the return fixture was cancelled due to covid.
Will they be able to turn things round this Saturday?
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS.
