It’s been a difficult week for Sutton having been served a good hiding at the hands of Stamford… But, it’s time to put it behind them with a home game against Shepshed Dynamo this Saturday.
Shepshed are currently in 13th spot having had 10 wins so far this season. They have not lost in the last 5 league games, and had a fantastic result against Belper on Tuesday night winning 3-1. Sutton however, have not won in the last 4 games and sit in 17th place just above the relegation zone. So, this has to be a game Sutton must get something out of especially as Histon won last weekend; and this may give them the impetus in the final few games of the season. Sutton are still 9 points ahead before going into this game.
Shepshed Dynamo are based in the small town of Shepshed in Leicestershire. They were founded in 1994 after reforming under this new name due to financial difficulties; their previous name was Shepshed Charterhouse. They are nicknamed The Dynamo and play at the Dovecote stadium.
They play in black and white striped shirts at home and yellow away, Martin O’Neill used to manage them back in the late 80s before he moved to Leicester City.
The last time Sutton played Shepshed was earlier in the season drawing that game 3-3. While a draw wouldn’t be a bad result, it would certainly feel like 2 points had been dropped at this crucial stage of the season.
Let’s get behind the team and hope Sutton can get enough points to avoid the bottom 3.
